Rio Tinto is about to begin underground operations at Kennecott. This is an underground mining initially concentrated on an area known as the Commercial Lower Skarn (LCS). The forecast foresees an extraction up to 2027 of another 30,000 tons of copper. To date we are talking about a production of 159,400 tons of copper extraction and 143,300 tons of refined copper.

According to Rio Tinto, LCS has a mineral resource of 7.5 million tons at 1.9% copper, 0.84 grams
