There is a drop in imports which sees Europe at fault with respect to aluminum. This reduced demand and Rotterdam’s premiums are now at their lowest in 9 months, so the market is wondering if Europe is an attractive partner or not. Carmaker Toyota reported a decline in domestic sales for 11 consecutive months, while domestic monthly production statistics fell 28.2% year-on-year to 221,817 units. This is different for other sectors, such as packaging which remains solid. The cables and bars sector, as well as the production of cans, also remain strong, some traders say.
